Favourite album of all time: Can’t pin it down to just one, but probably something by Dream Theater. Although ‘Toilet’ by Clown Core is pretty special and I’m currently listening to a lot of ‘Blackbird’ by Alter Bridge. ‼️ MEET THE BAND ‼️ Name: Joe Beardface Halliday ‼️ MEET THE BAND ‼️ Name: Joe Beardface Halliday Job in the band: Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica, Backing Vocals Album/band that made you want to pick up your instrument: The Oh Brother Where art thou soundtrack had a lot to do with my journey into Roots and Country, so technically that made me pick up an acoustic guitar. That and my punk rock heros also picking up acoustic instruments, like Chuck Regan and Brian Fallon. Earlier than that, unplugged in New York of course inspired my whole generation. Favourite album of all time: Samiam Whatever’s got you down. Most memorable Cain Pit moment: sling shotting ourselves into a taste of stardom, and what it’s like to be a far more established band very early in our career with landing a last minute main support slot at Folk in a field festival main stage on a Saturday night to thousands. Album / band that made you want to pick up your instrument: The Living End or The Stray Cats Favourite album of all time: it's very difficult to pick just one. So I popped my favourite albums into a wheel of names picker. Descendents - Everything Sucks Most memorable Cain Pit moment: There's been many in our short time. But either: finding out two members of a massive influential band of mine (Larry and his flask) watching our set at the back of a tent at a festival and tell us we rocked. Or getting off stage and seeing a huge queue that turned out to be people waiting to buy our merch. #thecainpit #doublebass #altcountry #punk #punkabilly

The Cain Pit mash up the energy of punk rock with the twangy heart of bluegrass, a pinch of rockabilly and other rootsy nonsense. Imagine a bluegrass band that discovered distortion pedals—or a punk band that fell into a hay bale rolled down an hill and splashed into the Norfolk Broads—and you’re getting close. They like to think they’re bridging the gap between genres… though it’s more like they built the bridge, set it on fire, and are now gleefully dancing in the ashes, hollering sugar-coated melodies with crunchy, bitter centres.
